A diary, in episodes

Your life has episodes.

Episome turns each day into an episode: a title, a genre, a score, the people who were in it. Days gather into seasons, and seasons play back like the story they were.

An episode page: “Dinner that turned into a walk”, a Romantic episode. Day 9, energy 6, happiness 10. The line of the day: “We should do this every Friday.” A five-second voice note is attached.

A poster for the day

One photo that stands for the whole thing. No photo? The episode glows in its own colour instead.

Six genres

Routine, Chaos, Celebration, First time, Pause, Romantic. Pick the one the day actually was, not the one it should have been.

With Premium, add genres of your own: you choose the name, the icon and the colour.

Three scores

The day, your energy, your happiness, each out of ten. A tap, not a form.

The cast

Who was there. Names carry across days, so the people who keep turning up become your recurring characters.

The line of the day

Something someone said, or the lyric that wouldn’t leave. Plus a five-second voice note: a laugh, a sentence, the sound of the street.

Notes, one question at a time

What did you do today? What did you listen to? What will you remember? Answer one, skip one, or write a note to your future self.

Nothing happened? That’s an episode too. It goes into the archive as a quiet grey square, and it counts.

02 · Archive

Your days, in colour.

Every episode becomes a square. Scroll back through a season and you can see how it went before you read a single word.

✦ ★ ✳ ✳ ✦ ❙❙ ♥ ❙❙ ❙❙ ★ ✦ ★ ❙❙ ✦ ❙❙ ♥ ✦ ★ ✳ ❙❙ ♥ ✦
A season of thirty episodes laid out as a grid of coloured squares, five to a row. Each square takes its colour from the episode’s genre and its depth from the day’s score; three squares are photos framed in their episode’s colour.

The genre sets the colour

  • Routine
  • Chaos
  • Celebration
  • First time
  • Pause
  • Romantic

Every genre but Routine also carries its own small mark, so a square never depends on colour alone.

The score sets the depth

The better the day, the deeper the colour. A great week reads as rich and dark; an ordinary one stays light.

A photo keeps its frame

Add a poster and the photo fills the square, framed in the episode’s colour, so it still belongs to the pattern.

03 · Seasons

Days become seasons.

Every ninety days a season wraps and the next one begins. When it does, Episome plays it back to you, one scene at a time.

The shape of it

The recap shows how the season felt, the genre that ran it, who was there most, and its poster: the best-scored day with a photo.

Press it on a slow evening and Episome opens a day you’d forgotten, from any season, with its poster, its scores and its line.

04 · Shared journals

Some episodes aren’t yours alone.

Start a shared journal for a flat, a trip, a long friendship. Invite people with a code, and write the same days side by side.

  • One date, one episode. The poster, the title and the genre belong to the whole cast.
  • Every scene has an author. Underneath, each person’s words, line and voice note are their own. Nobody else can edit them, not even the journal’s owner.
  • Its own seasons and recaps. A shared journal keeps a separate archive, and its recap shows who wrote what.
  • Your own diary stays yours. Joining a shared journal never shares a word of your personal one.

Episome Premium

More ways to make it yours.

The diary is free: episodes, the archive, seasons and their recaps, shared journals and share cards. Premium is for the story you want to cut your own way.

Premium isn’t available yet. Pricing and details will come closer to launch.

  • Scenes

Up to ten more photos next to the poster. A day rarely fits in one frame.

  • Longer voice notes

Three minutes instead of five seconds. Not just the laugh, the whole conversation.

  • Your season length

    30, 60, 90, 120, 180 or 365 days, or a number of your own.

  • Turning points

Mark the day everything changed, and let the season end right there.

  • Any day, any time

Fill in an episode from months ago, not only from the past week.

  • Bigger casts

More shared journals of your own, with room for twelve people instead of four.

  • Scenes side by side

When at least half of a shared journal’s cast is on Premium, everyone in it can add their own scene to the same day.

  • Your year in review

A whole year at a glance: its rhythm month by month, its genres, its cast and its poster.

  • Your own genres

Concert day, exam week, road trip. Make up to twelve genres for your personal diary, each with its own name, icon and colour.

06 · Questions

Questions, answered.

Is Episome free?

Yes. Writing episodes, the archive, seasons and their recaps, shared journals and share cards are all free. Premium adds extras, and it isn’t on sale yet.

Where is my diary stored?

Your personal journal is stored only on your phone and is never uploaded. Your account and any shared journals are kept on servers in the European Union.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free account with your email address. It keeps each person’s diary separate on a shared phone and makes shared journals possible.

Can I keep a diary with friends?

Yes. Start a shared journal for a flat, a trip or a friendship, and invite people with a code. Each date is one episode that the whole cast shares. On the free plan you can run one shared journal of your own, with up to four people.

What happens if I change phones?

Make a backup from Settings and restore it on the new phone. The backup keeps everything you wrote, but not photos and voice notes. Shared journals come back with your account on their own.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time, from Settings. Your account and the personal journal on your phone are deleted. What you wrote in shared journals stays there for the other members.

Which languages is it in?

English and Turkish. It follows your phone’s language, and you can change it in Settings.

When can I download it?

Episome isn’t in the app stores yet. We’re getting the first season ready.
