Who we are

Episome is made by Elif Yaren Çekiç, an independent developer based in İzmir, Türkiye. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean her. How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Episome. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must also agree to these terms.
• Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• An account is for one person.

What you write is yours

You keep all rights to what you write, photograph and record in Episome. Your personal journal stays on your phone and we never receive it. For shared journals, you allow us to store what you add and show it to the members of that journal, only as far as needed to run the service.

Only add photos, recordings and words that you have the right to share.

Shared journals

• Everything in a shared journal can be seen by all of its members.
• Your own notes, lines and voice notes in it can only be changed by you. The episode’s title, genre and poster belong to the whole cast.
• The person who creates a journal owns it and can invite and remove members, hand the journal to someone else, or delete it. Deleting a journal deletes everything in it, for everyone.
• If you leave a journal or delete your account, what you wrote there stays in the journal for its members.

Using Episome fairly

Don’t use Episome to:

• break the law, or help someone else break it;
• share other people’s private information, photos or recordings without their permission;
• harass anyone, or upload illegal, hateful or abusive content;
• try to get into accounts, journals or systems that are not yours, or disrupt the service.

If someone breaks these rules, we may remove the content or suspend the account.

Your personal journal and backups

Your personal journal lives only on your phone. We cannot see it, and so we cannot recover it. Make backups from Settings and keep them somewhere safe. A backup holds your writing, but not your photos and voice notes.

Premium

Some features are part of Premium. Premium is not on sale yet. When it is, it will be sold through the App Store and Google Play under their payment and refund rules, and we will add the details to these terms first.

Changes and availability

Episome is a young app made by one person. We work to keep it running and your shared journals safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever have to shut the service down, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, so you can make a backup.

Responsibility

Episome is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for the loss of a personal journal that was not backed up. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

Ending

You can stop using Episome and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of İzmir have jurisdiction. This does not affect your right as a consumer to apply to the consumer arbitration committees or courts where you live.

If we change these terms, we will publish the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the app or by email before an important change takes effect.
